5 best beach picks worldwide

Im a real beach traveller, flop and drop kind of girl.  It is my most favourite thing in the world to do is to swim and lay in the sun.  I can sit on a beach for hours on end doing absolutely nothing.  Ive been to a few around the world in my time, here are 5 of my top pics.

FIVE - SPIRITS BAY, NEW ZEALAND

Located in the far north of new zealand on the east coast, spirits bay has long been one of my most favourite haunts to drop into.  Its huge arcing sweep is always deserted and you can be guaranteed you will be the only person on the beach.  Its remoteness and the name itself "spirits" brings with it a certain kind of eeriness, when you are there........you know that there is some special kind of history and magic that has woven itself into the fabric of the surf and surrounding mountains.  A very special place.

FOUR - KOLIMBITHRES, PAROS ISLAND, GREECE

Located on the island of Paros in the greek islands, Kolimbithres is a quaint little beach quite popular with families for its calming waters.  A great place to watch your toes twinkle through the crystal water.

THREE - PARADISE BEACH, MYKONOS, GREECE

Another jewel in the mediteranean, Paradise beach is famous for one thing only........partying! Lay about in the sun all day and watch the celebrities roll in on their yachts and wait for the beach bars to start cranking at 5pm.  Right along the coastline the cocktails start flowing, bar dancing begins and carnage ensues.  Just make sure you make a plan for midnight however, because once the bell tolls its lights on and everybody out!

TWO - MANASE, SAVAII, SAMOA

A major jewel in the pacific quite possibly, the most splendid of all.  Manase is located on the north east coast of Savaii island in Samoa.  Shades of blue waters, white sands and coconut trees harboured by a coral reef.  Pure relaxation at its most beautiful.

ONE - WHALE BAY, WHANGAREI, NEW ZEALAND

And my number one all time favourite of which will never surpass is my own local, Whale Bay.  Located 30 minutes out of the small town of whangarei, new zealand whale bay is a local secret which is growing popular by the year.  Follow the bush track down the winding hill and open out to the tranquil waters of whale bay.  The silence is amazing and time will literally slip away.
